Former Van Cortlandtville School Teacher Helen DeMaria Millicker Dies

She was born in Peekskill on July 26, 1934 to Michael and Helen Pisani DeMaria and graduated from the Assumption School and Peekskill High School, Class of 1952, as well as SUC in New Paltz in 1956. She taught in Van Cortlandtville School.

Helen married John Millicker on April 17, 1960 in the Church of the Assumption. They had four sons: John (Shannon), Glenn, Michael (Karen) and Paul (Martha).

She is survived by her husband John, nine wonderful grandchildren: Anastasia, Michael, Alexandra, Elizabeth, Victoria, Megan, Stephanie, John and Kaitlin. She is also survived by her brother Michael (Nancy) DeMaria and 14 nephews and nieces as well as two aunts, Gloria Pisani DeNardo and Yolanda Pisani (Charles) Heady, and her sister-in law Dr. M. Millicker-Schratz and brother-in-law George Millicker

Visitation will be held at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home at 414 Washington Street in Peekskill on Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at the Church of the Assumption at 920 1st St in Peekskill on Thursday, Oct.10 at 10 a.m.
